Embargo
Dangerous goods are articles or substances which are capable of posing a risk to health, safety, property or the environment. The carriage of these materials by air transport is strictly regulated.
Our acceptance of Dangerous Goods is in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Technical Instructions and International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations and all applicable domestic and international rules, and regulations will apply.
You are strictly forbidden to carry the following items in your carry-on, checked baggage or on your person.
- Security attaché case, cash boxes, cash bags etc which may contain lithium batteries and/or pyrotechnic materials.
- Disabling devices such as mace, pepper spray etc containing an irritant or incapacitating substance.
- Liquid oxygen canisters.
You may however carry the following items in your carry-on and/or checked baggage in keeping with the descriptions provided:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Avalanche rescue backpack
- Boxed cartridges for sporting purposes
- Camping stoves and fuel containers
- Carbon dioxide solid (Dry Ice)
- Chemical agent monitoring equipment
- Electronic devices containing fuel cells systems
- Electronic devices containing lithium or lithium ion cells or batteries
- Gas cylinders containing non-flammable, non-toxic gas
- Hair curlers containing hydrocarbon gas
- Heat producing articles
- Insulated packaging containing refrigerated liquid nitrogen
- Meals ready to eat (MRE)
- Mercurial barometer or thermometer
- Non-radioactive medicinal or toilet articles (toiletries) including aerosols
- Radiosotopic cardiac pacemakers or other devices
- Safety matches and lighters
- Wheelchairs or other powered battery mobility devices
Note that passengers requiring the use of oxygen during flight must make a request to Caribbean Airlines at time of booking. See our procedure to request oxygen.
Some Dangerous Goods are too dangerous to be carried on passenger aircraft; others may be carried on cargo aircraft only. You will find details on how to freight items not allowed in your carry-on and checked baggage in our Cargo section.
