The Rapier Trophy which is a new trophy comes to the Mount Gay Rum Round Barbados Racing Series to celebrate the best-corrected time for the circumnavigation of the island by a yacht with a current CSA Handicap.

This trophy celebrates the innovative approach that Al Rapier of Trinidad applied to measurement handicapping of yachts in the Caribbean. His approach has enabled yachts to race throughout the region over the past 40 years using a measurement system that is not only incredibly fair but allows the yacht to be measured without the need to be hauled out of the water. The system survives and flourishes today as one of the most practical and fair handicap systems in the world.
