22 November 2011, Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago W.I. – In just about three week’s time, Caribbean Airlines will be operating direct flights from Grenada to Toronto. On 15 December 2011 the regional airline will begin a twice weekly operation from the Spice Isle to Toronto’s Lester Pearson International Airport.

“Customers will be able to travel direct from the Maurice Bishop International Airport to Lester Pearson International on Thursdays and Sundays. The return service which will operate under the code BW608, will originate in Trinidad, connect in Grenada then continue non-stop to Toronto. Flight BW609 will operate non-stop out of Toronto to Grenada, and then continue onto Trinidad.

This new non-stop service reinforces the airline’s commitment to offering customers better connections between the Region and North America” explained Caribbean Airlines CEO (Ag) Robert Corbie. Corbie went on to note that this new service was a natural progression for the airline, since the introduction of its biweekly direct service between Grenada and New York approximately one year ago.

Caribbean Airlines also services Grenada with daily connections to its hub in Trinidad, which allows for further connections to destinations including South Florida, New York and Toronto. The airline currently has up to 24 weekly flights between its Port-of-Spain hub and Grenada. On these new services, passengers can enjoy value added benefits, such as two free bags at 50lbs each, frequent flyer miles, complimentary meals and great in-flight entertainment.

‘The Grenada Board of Tourism is pleased to recognize the tremendous success that Caribbean Airlines continues to achieve as a preferred regional and international carrier. Recent references to its outstanding financial success this year, as well as plans to extend its provision of services to Grenada on a twice weekly basis from Toronto, Canada, is very good news.” states Edwin Frank, Grenada Tourist Board, Public Relations Officer. He continues, “Indeed Grenada’s tourism industry has benefitted remarkably due to the current reliable relationship that it has with Caribbean Airlines. With such a strong bond, we are confident that this success story will continue to have a similar impact on the overall advancement of Grenada’s tourism industry’.
