Caribbean Airlines has joined a host of corporate sponsors in the quest to taking Latoya Woods, Trinidad & Tobago’s Miss Universe 2010 delegate to the international competition in Las Vegas. Ms. Woods visited the Caribbean Airlines head office at Piarco on 28 July to collect her ticket to Miami courtesy the national carrier.

In addition to meeting CAL personnel and signing autographs for staff from several departments, the TT Miss Universe 2010 delegate also met the team responsible for the outstanding On Time Performance (OTP) at CAL, as her visit coincided with CAL’s weekly Management Operations Meeting chaired by Chief Executive Officer of the airline Captain Ian Brunton. The airline recorded a 93% OTP for the first six months of 2010, surpassing the international benchmark of 85%, and is poised to continue this excellent performance in the second half of the year.

However, sponsoring her travel to Miami is not the only CAL involvement. At TRIBE’s band launch last Saturday, La Toya displayed her national costume which she will wear on competition night. The costume is the creation of TRIBE designer and CAL pilot Monique Nobrega, and Douglas John of TRIBE.

Latoya heads out on Saturday 7 August on Caribbean Airlines for Miami with the competition taking place on 23 August in Las Vegas. For the summer period of July and August, Caribbean Airlines has increased its frequency to North America. Twice a week, the airline operates up to five flights a day to New York, and on selected days, up to three flights daily to both Toronto and South Florida. Customers can visit caribbean-airlines.com or contact the airline’s Reservations Department for further information on summer schedules at +1 868 625 7200.
